True Blood to Feature Random Pair of Roommates

When True Blood returns for season three, spoilers have revealed that Jason Stackhouse will fall in love.

But it sounds like he may have difficulty taking this werewolf woman home. After all, Jason won't be living alone this summer.

The character will be paired with a new roommate: Hoyt Fortenberry.

“Jason lets me sleep on the couch,” says Jim Parrack told TV Guide Magazine. “We’re definitely the Odd Couple.”

Will bunking with Stackhouse have its privileges/ You bet.

“Rooming with Jason will lead to some pretty adventurous times,” said Ryan Kwanten. “He’ll encourage Hoyt to sow his oats. In the first episode, my character wakes up with two women.”

In a funny spoiler alert: Hoyt gets invited into bed by the trio, but Parrack says: “I decide to stand by my girl.”

That's a good move, considering his girl is a vampire.

True Blood Cast Confirms: Nudity Galore to Come!

From werewolves to new villains to a boyfriend for Lafayette, there's a lot for viewers to look forward to on season three of True Blood.

But many cast members were present at this weekend's SAG Awards and they all confirmed one constant on the episodes ahead: a great deal of nudity.

"A lot of people will be getting naked this season," Todd Lowe (Terry Bellefleur) told E! News, while Carrie Preston made female fans excited when asked about Alexander Skarsgard:

"Alex is not shy about getting naked at all! And there will be lots of those kinds of scenes with Alex this season."

Added Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette): "There are a lot of hunky dudes and beautiful women who have been added to the cast, so it doesn't surprise me that more clothes are coming off."

Sadly for Sam Trammell, though, his character of Sam Merlotte isn't seeing his fair share of nude bodies at the moment.

"I'm not having any sex yet," Trammell said. "They really should provide Sam with more sex."

Any women out there care to volunteer?

A Triumvirate of Evil: Coming to True Blood!

Love her or hate her, Maryann provided quite the evil presence on True Blood last season.

How will she be replaced going forward? By multiple nefarious forces, says series creator Alan Ball.

In an interview with Michael Ausiello, Ball hypes the presence of three new character on season three as accounting for some serious trouble ahead:

“We have a triumvirate of evil this season,” he said. “I’m talking about Franklin Mott, Russell Edgington, and Debbie Pelt. They are all bad to the bone. They’re not just crazy, they’re evil.”

Bill with Sookie

James Frain will portray Mott, a blood-sucking love interest for Tara; Denis O'Hare is on board as Edgington; and Pelt has not been cast yet. Nevertheless, the latter's role has already been increased.

“We actually beefed up Debbie,” Ball said of Alcide's ex-girlfriend. “She’s going to be in more episodes, so maybe that will have an impact on [what actress] we can get for her, which is a big question right now."

Who should play Pelt? Offer up suggestions in our True Blood forum.

Ahead on True Blood: An "Erotic Connection" Between Bill and Sam

Yes, True Blood fans, you read that headline correctly.

Remember when Bill gave some of his blood to save Sam's life on the September finale? Many presumed this would come back and play a role on season three and creator Alan Ball says this prediction is correct... but perhaps not in a  way anyone saw coming.

Ball told Entertainment Weekly that the blood donation would create an "erotic connection" between Bill and Sam when the series returns to HBO in June. He wouldn't elaborate, but that's enough to get viewers buzzing.

Fortunately, Ball was more open about another couple of the same sex: Lafayette and his upcoming love interest, Jesus (played by Kevin Alejandro).

Especially following his torture at the hands of Eric and company, Lafayette  “is very guarded, Ball said. "And Jesus is a guy who is willing to knock down some of those guards. [Though] it’s not an easy relationship, they have a lot in common. They’re both shamans of sorts, healers, so there’s a reason they get brought together."

What might that reason be? Discuss it in our True Blood forum!

True Blood Season Premiere Scoop, Casting Note

The third season premiere of True Blood is still months away. HBO has tentatively scheduled it for June.

But creator Alan Ball has spilled a couple of secrets about the episode, and both of them involve characters' sex lives! On the season premiere, viewers can look forward to...

  • ...Sam Merlotte in an Arkansas motel room with a familiar face: "It should be curious and confusing to viewers," said star Sam Trammell.
  • ... Jason Stackhouse waking up with two women next to him, though Ryan Kwanten says he's looking forward a more meaningful romance for his character: "He will find love in the werewolf world, and love is a pretty unknown concept for him."

Speaking of that world, most fans are aware that Joe Manganiello has been cast as Alcide.

As readers of the book franchise on which True Blood is based know, Alcide's girlfriend Debbie Pelt will also come abord the drama.

She'll debut on the third episode and, as Ball told TV Guide Magazine, is "a badass bitch you do not want to get on the wrong side of. She is not going to like Sookie."

Will Alcide Come Between Sookie and Bill... and Eric?

In the first part of his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Joe Manganiello explained how he landed the key role of Alcide on True Blood.

Today, he goes into more detail about the effect Alcide's presence will actually have on Sookie and company. Specifically, will her quasi love triangle with Bill and Eric grow into a quadrangle?

On what Alcide offers Sookie: Although he’s not entirely human, he is flesh and blood. He has a lifespan. In the books, he hugs Sookie and she feels his skin and it’s just radiating heat.... It’s [similar to when] she met Bill and what a relief it was for her to not to be able to hear his thoughts.

Joe Manganiello

On his character's appearance: He’s really big. He’s giant. When Sookie first meets him, she opens the door and looks up, and then has to look up some more. So there’s this giant presence standing in the doorway with dark hair and dark features. He’s strong and protective.

He comes from a construction background; his father is in the construction business. He’s heroic and romantic. I don’t think it’s a secret that he has a broken heart when he shows up. He had a really rough go of this relationship with Debbie Pelt, so there’s a lot of friction there. Debbie’s doing a lot of things to get back at Alcide.

The role of Debbie Pelt has not yet been cast. Any suggestions on who should play her?

True Blood Casting for Lafayette's Boyfriend

It's about time Lafayette settled down.

The sassy short-order cook on True Blood, who has exchanged sexual favors for V in the past, will find a man that appreciates him for his personality (and smokin body, of course) on season three of the HBO hit.

Michael Ausiello reports that the character is getting a boyfriend! True Blood creator Alan Ball - who said this summer viewers would see a more “vulnerable” Lafayette - is searching for a sexy Latino actor in his 30s to fill the role.

Coming to True Blood: New Creatures, New Flashbacks and More!

Guest stars galore and a slew of new recurring characters are coming to season three of True Blood.

Most recently, the show announced that Joe Manganiello was joining the series in the key role of Alcide, a werewolf that gets involve with Sookie.

But what about storyline developments and character entanglements? A pair of True Blood cast members spoke to TV Guide Magazine this week about what's ahead on the HBO smash.

“There's more of people with different agendas,” Alexander Skarsgard (Eric) said. “Sam's got his stuff to deal with, his background and who he is, trying to figure that out. There might be some more tension between the vampire kingdoms and queendoms and they might introduce other creatures than just vampires.”

Skarsgard added that viewers will "see Eric and someone else as a tag team" during a flashback scene, though he wouldn't elaborate on the era in which it takes place.

Meanwhile, Rutina Wesley (Tara) confirmed the addition of werewolves to the publication and said:

"It'll be interesting to see how Tara deals with everything that happens with the last season. She's got a lot grieving she has to do, but I have a feeling that someone's going to come in and sweep her off of her feet. Then we've got Sookie there to help her out as well. They're making a lot of people the focus. That's the one thing that I love about being on the show – that it's truly an ensemble."

To whom is Wesley referring? James Frain has been cast as Franklin Mott, a vampire that cozies up to Tara.

We still have awhile to go until season three of True Blood premieres on HBO. TV Fanatic will be your source for casting and spoiler updates until then!

Writers on True Blood Season Three: Supernatural Stuff Ahead!

With many months to go until the third season of True Blood debuts on HBO, numerous spoilers are already circulating around the Internet.

For how long will Bill remain kidnapped? What's the deal with Sam's family? What other creatures can fans expect to meet?

Show writers Raelle Tucker and Alexander Woo sat down with Sci-Fi Wire this week and answered a few pressing questions. Let's take a look at how they've teased upcoming storylines...

The return of Bill: Expect the kidnapping arc to run for approximately the first six episode of season three. We'll see scenes of Bill with his captors during this time.

What's the deal with meeting Sam's family? Says Tucker: "They aren't the brightest people, maybe. At least they appear that way. They're fairly dysfunctional, but like anybody else, they have their good things about them and not-so-good things. They're still getting to know each other. Sam's still getting to know them, and so are we."

On the supernatural world: "The entire world is going to get a lot bigger," Woo says. "Not only the human world, but in Sookie's eyes, she's going to see the whole supernatural world. Luckily, since this show is through Sookie's eyes, as an audience we'll get to see a much larger supernatural world."

Super Sookie: "I think that Sookie is conscious of her abilities more this season than she's been, and she's questioning them more," Tucker says. "We're going to be exploring that more this season."

Less trouble (and clothing) for Jason: "I think Jason's path this season is actually about not getting into trouble," Tucker says. "It's about trying to stay out of trouble. I think it's going well for him."

True Blood Creator Teases Gay Characters, Shirtless Jason Stackhouse and More!

Considering its wealth of gay and bisexual characters, True Blood has often appealed to LGBT audiences.

With that in mind, The Advocate - an online newspaper that focuses on this community - recently spoke with series creator Alan Ball. The writer promised more gay characters on season three, along with more of Jason Stackhouse.

A few excerpts from the interview:

What other gay characters will be introduced next season?
We'll be meeting the vampire king of Mississippi and his long, long-term companion--- and by long-term I mean really long-term - Talbot. I think Lafayette may meet a love interest, and certainly Pam, who works with Eric, she's certainly got a lesbian vibe - I don't know that that's all she is, but she certainly does seem to appreciate the women.

Ryan Kwanten as Jason Stackhouse

Will Sophie-Anne go for Sookie?
I think Sophie-Anne is definitely interested in Sookie; I don't believe it's for sexual or romantic reasons but she is definitely interested in Sookie and whatever it is about Sookie that is special beyond the realm of what is human, and that's something that we definitely will learn more about in the upcoming season.

Can Jason never, ever wear a shirt?
There's no shortage of man candy on the show and Jason is back in Bon Temps and he may be up to his old ways. I can tell you that you'll definitely get to see a lot of Jason in the first few episodes, and by a lot, I mean a lot physically.
