V Producer Promises "Something You've Never Seen"

When V returns with new episodes on March 30, producer Scott Rosenbaum makes one thing very clear:

"I don't want to make the audience wait," he says in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. "Every episode is going to have two or three reveals, at least."

But what if you missed the opening four episodes of the series, which aired in lte 2009?

"If you've never seen the show, you should be able to jump right in, Rosenblaum said. "In some ways, ["Welcome to the War"] acts as a new pilot."

Striking Back

The producer also says there will be a showdown between Erica and Anna, as well as additional backstory on the main characters. Viewers will start to learn about their "secrets," according to Rosenblaum, culminating in a "scene I hope will be talked about."

"I promise you," he said. "It's something you've never seen."

V Interview: Laura Vandervoort on the Fall Finale

As Lisa on V, Laura Vandervoort has more than just the character of Tyler mesmerized.

The actress often makes us wish we were being manipulated by a visiting race, if only to drool over this lingerie-clad beauty in our bedrooms.

In an interview with TV Guide, Vandervoort previews tonight's major episode - the final one of 2009 - along with what's to come when the series returns after the Winter Olympics...

On her character: "I feel like Lisa is being taken along for the ride by her mother. Maybe she really does think that we're here for peace, and she is truly falling for Tyler and enjoying being on Earth because she's still young. I do think she's there for good, but I [would] love if the writers suddenly make her turn on her own people or turn on the humans, being two-faced all along."

Lisa

On Lisa and Tyler: "She really is developing feelings for him. I think that's surprising her, but she can't let that get in the way of whatever her task is. I think her feelings will affect her carrying out her task. The fact that she has more feelings than she expected is going to be a problem."

On a V/human war: "Maybe the season finale [will be] the start of a war. I would love for Lisa to defy her people and create a lot of tension where her and Tyler have to stay on the down low. He leaves his mother, I leave mine, and we try to survive on our own somehow. I wouldn't want to see the war right away. I want to learn more about the Vs and the people."

On a tease for tonight: "A lot of the main cast will finally come together. Three in particular out of the cast will create their own untraditional family."

Morris Chestnut Previews Anti-Visitors Faction on V

Morris Chestnut stars on V as the character of Ryan Nichols.

As fans of the ABC drama know, he's holding a major secret from his fiancee: Ryan is a Visitor... but a nice one!

In an interview with TV Guide, the actor speaks out on the show and on Ryan's attempts to unite an anti-Visitors faction on this week's new episode...

On the Fifth Column: For those who don't know, it's like an army of traitor aliens on Earth to fight against the actual Vs. The Fifth Column got together before and things happened so bad before, people don't want to get back into the fight. Ryan is trying to get people together for the Fifth Column and hopefully they will be back together.

Ryan and Valerie

On Ryan and Georgie: The hard part about that is the fact that Georgie has very bad feelings toward the Vs. Although I'm a traitor, I'm still a V, so it brings up some conflict in our relationship.

On his relationship with Valerie: One of the things with the Ryan-Valerie relationship — because a lot of people are asking why he doesn't just tell her — the more information she has, the more danger she is in. The Visitors won't know how much information she knows. If they feel that she knows any information about them, then she's in more danger than if she doesn't know.

As always, return to TV Fanatic tomorrow for a full recap and review of the latest V episode!

Roark Critchlow Speaks on V Character

Roark Critchlow is a familiar face to soap opera fans.

He played one half of the popular Days of Our Lives couple, Mike and Carrie, in the 90s. Now, the actor has resurfaced in primetime: he has a recurring role on ABC's V, portraying Paul Kendrick, Erica's boss at the FBI.

Roark Critchlow as Paul

Following this week's episode of the show, viewers are asking: might Paul be a Visitor? He touched on this topic, and others, in an interview with TV Guide Magazine...

On his character: "He’s relatively tough and likes to play by the rules. After [Erica] discovers that her partner is a V, she wonders ‘who else’? And there’s reasons for me to be distrustful of her. I could definitely turn out to be a V, but that’s not resolved in the two episodes I’ve shot so far."

On former co-star Jensen Ackles: "Jensen is one of the better people I’ve known. And I watch him on Supernatural. He’s so funny. We used to hook up for a beer every now and then. But I will hunt him down when production on V starts up again in January."

On a return to Days of Our Lives: "If I’m not working on V or something else, I’d do a week. Heck ya. That would be fine."

V Interview: Anna Speaks!

Elizabeth Mitchell has received the bulk of the publicity for V, and for good reason. We love that former Lost star.

But buzz has been building around Morena Baccarin since last week's series premiere. The Brazilian plays Anna, the leader of the Visitors, and she spoke to TV Guide this week about what's to come on the show.

A few excerpts:

On the Visitors: By Episode 4 you get a very good idea that we're not what we're all cracked up to be. There's more to it than we're saying. We are here for more than just a short while, and we're here for additional reasons than just water and minerals.

Anna Photo

On Anna: Anna is very loyal to her people; that's a good quality. I think there are Vs that have been living among humanity, so they take on some human qualities. There are parts of Anna that, depending on who you ask, can be seen as good.

On the relationship between Anna and Chad: He's very ambitious, and he really wants to succeed at what he does. By the end of the four episodes, he's going to find himself in a real decision spot of not knowing which way to go, and maybe their relationship will progress into something else. The power shifts back and forth a bit.

On V spoilers: We get to see more about how the Vs live. There are more hints at how they do certain things and there's some really great plot twists. [There are] characters' worlds that collide that you wouldn't expect.

V airs a new episode tonight. Sadly, there are just two more to go after that; as the series takes a long hiatus and returns to ABC in March.

Scott Wolf Speaks on V Remake

In the interest of full disclosure: the TV Fanatic staff has had a slight crush on Scott Wolf since his days on Party of Five.

Therefore, you can only imagine how excited we were to hear of his return to primetime on the highly-anticipated ABC drama V.

The show, a remake of a classic 1980s miniseries, premieres tonight. We'll review the pilot episode soon after it airs, but let's hear from Wolf first, courtesy of a recent interview with TV Guide...

On his character, reporter Chad Decker: When we meet him and see his first encounter with [Anna], the leader of the Visitors, he's put in a position where he's forced to either give up the opportunity of a lifetime or compromise himself in a deep way. You come to understand why Chad is wired the way he is.

Chad Decker Photo

On the surface, Chad is not necessarily the best guy. He's very ambitious, but I think the thing that makes him really complicated and fun to play is that he's ambiguous. There's a sense that he's a little up for grabs. In a larger way, he represents an idea, in terms of how much faith should be placed in our media figures. It asks the question: Is that a good idea? Or is it potentially dangerous?

On potential Visitors: part of the fun of the show is your schoolteacher, your waiter at a restaurant, your own cousin could be a Visitor. I think that underlying suspicion makes for a lot of fun.

Elizabeth Mitchell Discusses Upcoming Seasons of V, Lost

Instead of bouncing around the space-time continuum on Lost this fall, the lovely Elizabeth Mitchell is fighting reptilian aliens on a remake of the '80s miniseries V.

However, that doesn't mean Juliet doesn't make at least an appearance in the sixth and final season of Lost. Here are excerpts of E! Online's Q&A with the star ...

Q: When I read the pilot, I absolutely called that the part of Erica Evans was written for you, despite the reports that you were just a guest star on the series.

A: They actually said that it kind of was, but they didn't think I was going to be able to do it. I love the idea that it was so different from Juliet.

We have someone who's got a lot more hope this time, a lot more excitement.

Q: For who don't know too much about V, can you discuss your character?

Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans

A: Erica is a federal agent doing counterterrorism. She deals with finding sleeper cells and basically eradicating them as much as possible. She's smart and intelligent and all the things that you would want someone who is protecting our country to be. I must have a hero complex. I keep gravitating toward these roles. She has a son, and she's in love with her son, and her son is in love with the Visitors. She has to deal with the fact that she has to save him for the most part. Her husband just left her, so she's a brokenhearted counterterrorist detective.

Q: When it comes down to it, what's more important, protecting your son or protecting the world?

A: I think it's going to come down to both being the same thing. I think her son is becoming a huge example of what is going wrong, of the fact that this is becoming insidious, that these people are like toxins seeping into our groundwater. They're going to be everywhere. I think it's a little bit terrifying. She's actively trying to do something about it, and it's like the smallest person you can imagine against an army of millions. I like those odds. I think they make for good drama.
