Coming Up on Weeds: Little Boxes, Disaster for Celia

Keep your eyes - and ears! - open next week on Weeds.

According to Michael Ausiello, the Showtime hit will feature (albeit briefly), a recurrence of its former theme song, "Little Boxes," on the episode "Where the Sidewalk Ends."

The TV columnist also teases that Andy refuses a gift on the episode, a gift he really wants. Ummm, is it Nancy's vagina?

Finally, in a storyline that got started last week, Celia goes into business with an Avon-esque company. The results, to no one's surprise, will be disastrous.

Celia is out of jail; but, of course, far from out of trouble.

What the Heck Did the Mystery Woman Say on Weeds?

Kate del Castillo made quite an impression on Weeds viewers this week when she debuted as Pilar Guzman, a Mexican drug lord that will clearly cause a problem for Nancy and Esteban.

To close the episode "A Modest Proposal," the character stormed into Esteban's mansion, screamed at Nancy's baby daddy and then left. When Nancy asked what was going on, her fiance replied that they can no longer get married.

A Confrontation on Weeds

So, what did del Castillo actually say? We've basically translated the outburst. Check it out:

Pilar: Esteban, what do you think you're doing? You've gone far enough, don't you think? It's one thing to have an adventure with a b*tch gringa... until you end up having a child with her... but marrying her? Are you crazy? All of the eyes of Mexico are watching you. All of my expectations, my work, my money, my time is invested in you. You should've killed the b*tch gringa when you had the chance.
Esteban: Are you saying I have to pick between you and Nancy?
Pilar: No, you have to choose between yourself and the gringa.

In other words: there are people much higher up on the drug lord food chain than Esteban. And it's safe to say they don't like Nancy very much.

We'll have to tune in next week to see where this goes.

Alanis Morisette Speaks on Weeds Role, Storyline

On tonight's new episode of Weeds, Nancy finally gets her wish: a non-shady, American obstetrician.

Her name will be Dr. Audra Kiston and she'll be played by a familiar face: Alanis Morisette kicks off a multiple-episode arc tonight on the Showtime hit.

In an interview with USA Today, the singer goes into detail about what attracted her to the role and what's in store for Kiston this season...

On becoming a fan of Weeds: "Weeds was my solace and respite in the back of the bus on tour. I was in the middle of detoxing at the time, and it was my replacement addiction for food."

On Kitson's interaction with Nancy: "Nancy is in a pickle, and Audra helps her outside of what typically would be allowed in a hospital... She's really drawn to the drama."

Alanis Morisette, Weeds

Justin Kirk (Andy) also spoke on his character's connection to Audra:

"I think it's fair to say that on the surface of things, Andy doesn't seem like someone who has (it) together to the degree she might, being a doctor and all that. It's a rocky road at first. It is a bit of a struggle for Andy to nail it down, as it were."

Will Jennifer Jason Leigh Return to Weeds?

Let's hope that Jennifer Jason Leigh wasn't simply another woman that Andy banged (on a washing machine, in this case).

The actress was hilarious and ideally suited as Nancy's sister during her two episode run on Weeds. Will we see her again?

Hopefuily, says series creator Jenji Kohan.

"We loved having Jennifer on the show and were dazzled by her performance and her chemistry with our cast. We have no idea when she'll be back, but we'd love to have her return if our story and her schedule align. Fingers crossed."

Andy and Jill Bond

Meanwhile, another big guest star will debut next week, on the episode titled "Van Nuys." Alanis Morisette comes aboard as Nancy's new obstetrician.

Weeds Recap: "Super Lucky Happy"

It was a typical week in the life of Nancy Botwin and her family last night on Weeds.

Shane sold pot to his teacher; Silas finagled his way into a location for his medical marijuana store; and Andy impersonated his dead brother, only to run into Judah's first, insane girlfriend.

As for Nancy, her Mexican drug lord of a baby daddy at least treated her with some respect for a change. That's always nice to see.

Read a full recap of "Super Lucky Happy" and learn about the likely death of one key character.

Work It Out

As always, there were a few classic Weeds quotes in this episode. Among our favorites:

Andy: Is it ok to impersonate your dead brother and pseudo-steal some money if you're gonna use the cash for the family's greater good? | permalink
Shane: You stuck your penis inside my mother at least once.
Nancy: Ok, then. Good night, Shane. Go upstairs. | permalink
Celia: They were going to sell my gallbladder to the Japanese. Fortunately, my body is a toxic pit. | permalink

Kate del Castillo: Nancy's New Nemesis on Weeds

Look out, Nancy Botwin.

Kate del Castillo has already filmed three episodes of Weeds, as the Mexican actress portrays Pilar Guzman a drug lord that comes between Nancy and her unborn baby’s father, Esteban.

The rising star spoke to TV Guide Magazine about the character and her affect on the Showtime series:

What’s the role?
I play Pilar Guzman. She’s a classy, powerful, strong woman who is going to be shaking up the relationship between Nancy and Esteban. She’s a wealthy woman who inherited a lot of money.

Is she a drug lord?
Yes, kind of. I think this is the first time in five seasons that Mary-Louise’s character will have to deal with a bad woman—and I don’t necessarily mean drug dealing. At first, I don’t even look at her. I don’t like the relationship she has with Esteban - for business reasons.

Justin Kirk Previews Weeds Guest Stars, Storylines

As Andy Botwin on Weeds, Justin Kirk is downright hilarious.

In a new interview with E! News, meanwhile, Kirk is downright insightful.

What's coming up on season five? How do Andy and Alanis Morisette's character bond? Let's find out!

On Andy's relationship with Morisette's Dr. Audra Kiston: At this point, she's only shot a couple of episodes, maybe three for far, and honestly I don't know what the writers are going to do until we get the scripts. I hear where it may be going, but they change their minds a lot.

Justin Kirk

On Silas and Doug's pot store: Indeed, Silas and Doug do start a medicinal marijuana dispensary this year. It goes pretty strong. This one is a pretty lengthy storyline. But you know what's funny, there's not a lot of pot smoking going on onscreen this season.

On the future of Andy and Nancy: I don't know what's going to happen. But I like exploring that world. I would like that relationship to go on. I think their relationship, whether it's consummated or not, remains to be seen. But it's one that is a lot of fun to do, and I like working with Mary-Louise, so I hope it goes on. Sometimes it's heartbreaking and sometimes it's funny.

On the return of a former character: We have an old Weeds favorite who returns to the show this year. I was so excited to see that in the script. There, that's a big spoiler.

Mary-Louise Parker Dishes on Fate of Celia, Pregnancy and More

Following one episode of its new season, Weeds has given viewers a lot to chew on.

Celia is bonding with her captor in Mexico; Doug and Silas have grand visions of pot growing; and Nancy is pregnant and alone.

In an interview with E! Online, star Mary-Louise Parker touched on all these storylines:

On Celia's fate: Have no fear, Celia lovers: Nancy' frenemy will be okay: "Celia's like a cockroach; you can't stamp her out," Parker said.

On Silas and Doug's pot plans: Will Nancy get involved with her son and friend's medical marijuana dreams? "I don't think so. In general, she dreams bigger than that. It's too safe and simple for her. [Her] things are generally more dangerous and have higher risk to them," Parker said.

On having another child: "She's not going to turn into a housewife. I don't think she'll be satisfied staying at home gardening."

Silas Botwin Photo

It's hard to blame Silas for looking at his mother in a new, confusing, less respectful light.

Weeds Spoilers: Nancy Meets Guillermo

As anyone that watched last night's fifth season premiere of Weeds knows, Nancy is in serious trouble.

That's what happens when you get knocked up by the Mexican drug lord you recently ratted out to the FBI.

Experiencing desperate times, Nancy will soon take desperate measure: E! Online confirms that she'll meet up with an imprisoned Guillermo on an upcoming episode.

As you might expect, however, it's not a friendly visit. After all, Guillermo knows that Nancy turned him and his cohorts over to the Feds. What happens after this meeting? Sources say Nancy's former partner-in-crime stires up "some classic Weeds trouble."

Weeds Season Premiere Clip: Nancy at the Doctor

On tonight's fifth season premiere of Weeds, Nancy is still pregnant.

There's just one problem (or two, if you count the father of her unborn child being a Mexican official/drug lord): she can't understand a word her doctor is saying.

This will all change, of course, as spoilers have revealed that Alannis Morisette will soon come aboard as Nancy's obstetrician. For now, though, the show's main character is stuck in the following situation...
