Terrible news for the WWE this weekend:
Edge suffered what's believed to be a torn Achilles tendon during his match with Jeff Hardy at last night's SmackDown/ECW house show in San Diego. The injury took place five minutes into the match, which had to be stopped, as EMTs came in to assist the superstar.
A torn Achilles tendon is a serious injury. Edge will likely require surgery and could be out for up to a year.
This year's WWE SummerSlam will air from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on August 23.

Due America's birthday, the July 6 edition of Monday Night Raw taped earlier this week.
Without giving too much away, the Million Dollar Man serves as the guest host/general manager, while Triple H takes on John Cena in the main event.

Batista served as the guest host of Monday Night Raw this week.
Backstage at the event, he reportedly told people that his physical rehabilitation is going well.
According to PWInsider.com, Batista had surgery last month to repair a torn tendon in his arm. He'll begin working out again in a little over a month, with a return goal being November's Survivor Series.
It takes place in his hometown of Washington D.C.
The feud between CM Punk and Jeff Hardy was taken to a new level this week.
On tomorrow night's Smackdown, viewers will see Punk whine about last Sunday night's match at The Bash, while Hardy gets a bit of retribution in the main event.

Our apologies for not publishing our usual, weekly, detailed Monday Night Raw recap this morning. Real life circumstances got in the way.
Those that watched the three-hour program received a couple shocks, however. First:
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon announced that he has "sold" Monday Night RAW. Who gave him an offer he couldn't refuse? Donald Trump!
The Donald appeared via satellite to confirm the deal. He said he'll be at RAW next week to run things his way. Reportedly, the broadcast will be commercial-free.
Also, the following matches have been announced for The Bash on June 28:
Following his shocking victory at last weekend's Extreme Rules pay-per-view, CM Punk was the focus of this week's Friday Night Smackdown.
