Mr. Kennedy has been released from the WWE. Here's what the official company site says:

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Raw Superstar Mr. Kennedy (Ken Kennedy) as of today, May, 29 2009. WWE wishes Ken the best in all future endeavors.

Did Wrestlemania 25 live up to its excessive hype?

Here's a match recap of the biggest WWE pay-per-view of the year...

Primo and Carlito defeated John Morrison and The Miz in a lumberjack match to capture the WWE and World Tag Titles. After a few great near falls, Primo reversed Morrison into a Backstabber to win the match.

C.M. Punk defeated Christian, Shelton Benjamin, MVP, Kofi Kingston, Finlay (w/Hornswoggle), Mark Henry (w/Tony Atlas), and Kane in the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Santino Marella won the 25-Diva Battle Royal. After the match, Justin Roberts and Candice Michelle entered the ring and presented "Santina" with a crown and a sash.

Chris Jericho defeated Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, and Jimmy Snuka (w/Ric Flair) in an elimination match. Afterwards, actor Mickey Rourke entered the ring and caught Y2J with a punch to the body and a left hook to the head that dropped the wrestler.

Matt Hardy defeated Jeff Hardy in an Extreme Rules match.

Rey Mysterio defeated JBL to win the Intercontinental Title... in 20 seconds. After the match, JBL announced that he quit.

Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels. The match last over half an hour and each man received a standing ovation when it was over.

John Cena defeated Edge and Big Show in a Triple Threat match to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

Triple H beat Randy Orton to retain the WWE Title. He used the sledgehammer, while the ref was knocked out, to gain an advantage.

Will Batista Return at Wrestlemania 25?

Batista recently talked to The Philippine Star about a number of topics.

Foremost among them, the injured wrestler hinted that he may appear at Wrestlemania 25.

Contrary to reports that said Batista would be sidelined for an additional couple of months, he said the following about whether or not he'll be a part of the show:

"I think I’ll be physically ready to go by that time, but WrestleMania is our biggest show of the year and we really build up for it. The storylines are built up for Wrestlemania. Without much time to be built up with a storyline, I don’t think I’ll be fortunate enough to be a part of it."

Sounds like we can count Batista out of any matches, but a run-in or appearance of some kind is a strong possibility.

WWE Results: Royal Rumble, 1/25/09

One of WWE's biggest events took place last night.

Here's a quick rundown of match results from the 2009 Royal Rumble:

Jack Swagger defeated Matt Hardy to retain the ECW title.
Melina defeated Beth Phoenix to capture the WWE's Women's Championship.
John Cena defeated JBL, after a failed interference attempt by Shawn Michaels, to retain the WWE Heavyweight Title.
Edge defeated Jeff Hardy, after brother Matt Hardy betrayed him with a chair shot to the head- to capture the WWE World Championship.
Randy Orton outlasted 29 competitors to win the Royal Rumble itself.
