Gotham Promo: Harvey Bullock is the Man

at .  Updated at .

You guys, Gotham Season 3 is right around the corner.

Fox is throwing out character promos left and right, and this time we get one for Harvey Bullock. Our favorite detective sidekick is ready to take on the monsters that have invaded Gotham.

While Jim Gordon is trying to drown himself in some sort of syrupy sorrow, Bullock wants to clean up the city, because it's the right thing to do.

Bullock - Gotham Season 3

It's interesting how Bullock's character has changed over the course of Gotham's two seasons. When we first met him, he was a detective who didn't really care about right and wrong. What mattered was making the mob bosses happy.

Even though he heeded the big bosses orders, his favorite was Fish Mooney. We've always wondered if Fish and Bullock could have had some relations (yes, that kind), because he seemed to be all over her every time he went to see her.

But, the good Jim Gordon seemed to rub off on Harvey at some point, especially in season two. Harvey shed that "cop on the take" persona to become somewhat respectable, though he did do some under the table type stuff. But, you have to do what you have to do. It's Gotham, after all.

Jim Gordon, Bounty Hunter - Gotham Season 3

Now that the monsters of Indian Hill have invaded the city, Harvey seems more determined than usual to get them off his streets. With or without Gordon's help.

Sure, he'd like for Jim to come back to the GCPD, but Gordon is wallowing in self pity, and who wants to be around that all day. He's such a sour puss!

Harvey's stint as captain of the GCPD while Barnes was in the hospital was admirable. Who knew he had it in him?

It had to be suffocating to be in that position though, even though he claims he enjoyed it. Harvey is more of an "on the streets" type of cop. He's not the type of cop used to the limitations of being in an office all day. Or, of having to follow upper management type rules.

How many of his epic one-liners can he toss off sitting in the high chair? The only kind would be to insult his fellow officers, but that's got to get boring after a while. Harvey needs action to motivate those one-liners to come out of his mouth.

The people of Gotham can eat my socks.

Bullock

It's one of the great things we love about Harvey. No matter the situation, he always has something to say about it.

Now that Barnes is back, Harvey will be able to get back to his old self. Even though he still holds a grudge against Penguin for killing Mooney, Penguin is the least of his worries.

Captain Barnes - Gotham Season 3

What worries us, though is what he's going to do when he runs into Fish. It seems Fish has taken over a good portion of the monsters, so he's going to be dealing with her head on as we see in this video.

Will he be able to resist her charms? Will he really be able to put a bullet in his favorite former crime boss? He loves Fish, even if she did try to kill him a few times.

We hope he doesn't try to take her in, because once she touches him, he's hers forever. Or, however long her special touch lasts. All sorts of things could go wrong with that scenario. We just hope Bullock has the gumption to do what's right for Gotham (and Gotham's viewers) and rid the city of Fish once and for all.

I'm outta here - Gotham Season 2 Episode 22

Will bullets be able to stop her? They didn't work on Azrael, so why are the cops still using their simple guns? They need flame throwers or something more deadly. We hope they get their brains in order.

What do you think Bullock's role in Gotham will be this season? Will he move past sidekick status now that Gordon is out of the GCPD?

Will he be the one who brings down Fish Mooney, or will he be siding with her if there is a showdown between her and Penguin?

Check out the mini-Bullock tease below, and let us know what you think Harvey's future will be.

The season premiere of Gotham airs Monday, September 19 at 8/7c on Fox. Be sure to check back here after it airs for our full review of the episode. We'll want to know your thoughts too! Until then? Watch Gotham online to get your fix.
