Riverdale Midseason Finale Promo: Cheryl And Veronica Go To War!

at .

The tension has reached its peak on Riverdale Season 3 Episode 8.

The teens have had enough; they're standing up to their parents and fighting back. Cheryl and Veronica are calling a battle to arms to take down the devious and manipulative antagonists in town. But to them, they call them "Mother" and "Father."

Based on the midseason finale trailer, the latest decision from the parents was the final straw.

Riverdale High's queen bees are rallying the troops. They've got the RROTC and their friends, but will it be enough?

The situation has become an all-out war.

Wanted Man - Riverdale Season 3 Episode 8

All of the troubles seem to be triggered by a mysterious seizure. However, unlike the previous attacks of Ethel and Betty, the latest instance hit Riverdale High on a grander scale.

We see a quick clip of Veronica, Toni, and the other River Vixens convulsing on the ground in a mass seizure. What could be causing these health risks?

Hermione Lodge isn't waiting around to find out. With the authority of being the mayor, she's stepping in and shutting Riverdale High down. Though, that might not be all she had planned.

Blue-suited people in health masks are pulling students out of the high school, and Principal Weatherbee is openly calling out someone as "one of the infected."

Are people being quarantined because of the seizures? Is this a ploy by the Gargoyle King?

Jellybean Jones - Riverdale Season 3 Episode 8

Over at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy, Betty Cooper is taking back her power. (I guess the brainwashing wasn't that successful.)

The intrepid investigator is holding Sister Woodhouse captive in the creepy chapel. She initially restrained her after strong-arming her at neck-point with a sharpened weapon.

Sister Woodhouse threatens both Betty and a mysterious person off-camera with electro-shock therapy.

Who is Betty's mysterious ally? Could it be Ethel? Did she have a change of heart?!

Leather Jacket - Riverdale Season 3 Episode 8

Elsewhere in the promo, there are a few quick clips of Penelope doused in water, Hiram warning about a biblical threat, and Jughead reuniting with his mother (played by guest star Gina Gershon).

Hopefully, their reunion will be sweet and tender. Though this is Riverdale, nothing is ever light and innocent.

Darkness will find its way to them.

Riverdale Season 3 Episode 8 Quotes

Sister Woodhouse: The children who come through our doors are broken. It’s our sacred mission to fix them using whatever tools necessary.
Betty: Does that mean the Sisters created Gryphons and Gargoyles? As a tool?
Sister Woodhouse: Misbehaving children have been brought down to this room since the asylum opened. That statue scared them into submission. Some of them, the more disturbed ones, created a fantasy realm ... a game ... to cope with the fear of the one they named, “The Gargoyle King.” We embraced it as a therapeutic tool and it worked because it embeds itself in the minds of the players. It makes them complacent, focuses them.
Betty: If that’s true, then how did the game get out into the world? Did you give it to Hiram?
Sister Woodhouse: It was never meant to leave these walls. It’s too powerful. A game born of madness.
Ethel: A madness you helped nurture. And now people like Ben and Dilton are dead.

Gladys: Oh, I recognize that rooster top. Archie Andrews!
[Gladys hugs Archie]
Gladys: Gosh, you sure grew up!
[She stares at them and smile]
Gladys: Ohhhh! So, you two finally got together, huh? I always knew there was something going on between you.
Jughead: Uh, no, we’re not together “together.” We’re just on the road together.
Archie: Yeah, like a bromance.
