Riverdale Season 3 Trailer Teases Eerie New Mystery

at .

Riverdale appeared at San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday morning, and that can only mean one thing:

A trailer for Riverdale Season 3!

As is always the case for the series, much of the trailer recaps some of most significant moments from the previous season.

So, if you liked watching Hermione Lodge with a gun, Betty go dark, and Archie get arrested, then you're in for a treat.

But the final minute or so set up the new mystery coming our way when The CW hit returns in October.

The good news is that Archie is not incarcerated when new episodes resume. Instead, the red-headed teen is done with the worrying and wants to have a drama-free labor day weekend.

It's clear he's spent the whole summer worrying about his fate after Hiram Lodge turned the tables and got him arrested for a murder he did not commit.

However, Hiram has not managed to turn Veronica against her boyfriend. She and Archie are as loved up as ever, but the new mystery seemingly has nothing to do with Archie.

Betty wakes up in the dead of night to find Alice and Polly, and others around a fire with Polly's children.

Polly did say on Riverdale Season 2 Episode 22 that people from the farm could help Alice through the grieving process following the revelation that Hal was the Black Hood.

As such, it looks like the new mystery is set to follow the people Polly was referring to, and if they're wearing white in the middle of the night and parading babies over fires, we think it's fair to say it's going to get crazy!

Watch the full trailer below and hit the comments with your thoughts on it.

Riverdale Season 3 debuts Wednesday, October 10th.

Riverdale Quotes

Alice: These diaries are your past, and your past is crushing you. Edgar says that...
Betty: What, Mom? What does some guru who’s running a heaven’s gate commune for pregnant runaways and wives of serial killers have to say about my diaries?
Alice: We know that you look down on the Farm, Betty. But, Edgar has done nothing but help me. He’s encouraged me to embrace everything that I was ashamed of and become the best version of myself.

Veronica: What's happening out there? Do we know? Is it about me?
Jughead: I have a strong inkling, and no. Also, I'd let it go.
Veronica: Yes, but you're you and I'm me. You do you, girl. I'll be back.
[She leaves]
Kevin: What was it like before she got here? I honestly cannot remember.
