Recap

Ruby goes to the comms room with the old typewriter. Miller is there with her. She doesn’t want him to hurt Sugar.

Melanie asks him how he’s doing, and he thinks to himself, well, human, but better. He was talking in his sleep, and she wonders what other languages he speaks. He’d like to tell her everything, but he can’t, not ever.

The Siegel family has a service for David. Jonathan can’t get over the loss. But finally, Bernie realizes that something likely happened to Olivia. Even in her darkest days, she would have been here.

Olivia is alive. She’s under a staircase, singing to herself as someone walks above.

Melanie returns with coffee, wanting answers. Who’s Jen? But people are coming. Miller is his boss, he says. They break down the door to find Sugar and Melanie have escaped out the window.

Sugar tries explaining that Miller and the others are part of a group that nobody is allowed to know about. It’s a secret he’s kept for a while now. They all have. He’s never wanted to tell anyone as much as he wants to tell Melanie.

Melanie thinks he’s a foreign spy. He doesn’t say no, but he says they’re just here to observe.

They try go to Henry now. He’s next on their list. When Sugar asks after him, the guard says he’s a real popular guy today.

They’re too late.

Sugar tells Melanie how his people are trying to stop him from finding Olivia. He promises her they don’t hurt people. That’s not who they are. He’s going to fix this.

Now Sugar isn’t afraid to use a gun. He doesn’t want to be violent to humans, but he’s not afraid to do it with Miller.

When Sugar gets home, Ruby tells him that the mission is over. They’re going home. In a day or two, everyone in this room will be off planet. But Sugar won’t go without her.

Sugar is done with the lying. Someone better tell him right now where she is. Henry will tell him. Ruby objects.

The humans found out about us. And that’s who they’ve been protecting. Powerful people. They just look the other way to protect their own. That’s not who Sugar is. He’s very Harry Vanderspiegel. It’s the son of a powerful person they’re protecting.

Then Henry calls Sugar out on killing the folks at Stallings. The first two, he had to kill. It was self defense. But the third one wasn’t. He learned about people just like Harry Vanderspiegel.

Just before he pulled the trigger, all of the thoughts about the greater good went away, and he did it because he wanted to.

The politician threatening the aliens are doing the same thing to them that Davy did to the women. Sugar realizes Henry is right. They stayed too long, and it’s time to go home.

When Sugar gets to the house, a security guard stops him. He talks more and more to get back into that house to see if that’s where Olivia is being held. But the “guard” is the senator’s son. He’s the kidnapper.

Sugar says that it doesn’t have to be like this. He always warns people, but they never listen.

They get into a bad position, and Sugar suggests they just call it a day. But the guy kills himself.

The basement is set up like a lab with all kinds of torture devices. There are disks of everyone he mutilated and killed.

Sugar finds the compartment. Olivia.
