Lifetime has picked up the exclusive cable rerun rights to CBS's How I Met Your Mother according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The deal is set that each episode of HIMYM will cost around $725,000 per episode and Lifetime will have exclusive licensing for up to eight seasons of the comedy.  Lifetime outbid at least six other interested cable networks.

According to Lifetime's Executive VP of Entertainment, JoAnna Alfano, HIMYM makes a great fit for the network because "It's fresh and contemporary.  There are not a lot of shows out there that are right for us, so it was really important to go after this."
