Okay, so Meredith Grey's mother had an affair with the Chief way back then. Was there a long-lost love child there? Ridiculous as this concept might seem:

1. It's far less so than Izzie making hard love to a ghost.
2. Lexie Grey turned out to be pretty cute; Perhaps Meredith's alleged half-brother will be a similarly positive addition to the cast next season.

Next fall is when this new character is supposed to be cast, according to sources. Executive producer Shonda Rhimes (below) is reportedly casting a biracial male in his late 20s. Hey, someone's gotta fill the void left by Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight.
