Gabrielle Union, Brian Austin Green to Join CW's Body Politic Pilot

The cast of The CW's new political drama, The Body Politic, starring Friday Night Lights' Minka Kelly, Veronica Mars' Jason Dohring and The West Wing alum Tim Matheson, is continuing to expand with Gabrielle Union and Brian Austin Green coming on board.

Zap2it's Korbi Ghosh has the scoop on both parts.

The network has confirmed that Union, whom we last saw on TV in Ugly Betty (as Wilhelmina's loony little sister) and who just began a multi-episode run on Life, has been cast in The Body Politic as a legislative aide to a congressman.

Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Union are joining the CW's new political pilot Body Politic. Megan Fox will not be a part of the cast, sadly. We just wanted to run a photo of her.

Her character will no doubt cross paths with Hope, the show's lead played by Minka Kelly, who moves from Michigan to Washington where her estranged father (Matheson) is a U.S. senator who's just been tapped as Attorney General.

Matheson played Vice President John Hoynes on The West Wing.

Brian Austin Green, meanwhile, will play Lucky, a D.C. insider who knows everyone in town. Dohring will play a reporter for The Washington Post. Six Degrees vet Jay Hernandez, CW insiders verify, will be on the series as well.
