An Exclusive Interview with Smallville's Cassidy Freeman

at .

With the season finale of Smallville coming up next week, we were lucky enough to interview the beautiful Cassidy Freeman, who plays Tess Mercer.  Find out what she thinks Tess' motivations have been and what to expect out of the finale.

TV Fanatic: After rejecting a naked Oliver... we just want to know what its going to take to get Tess and Oliver back together?
Cassidy: It was so difficult.  [Tess] has a one track mind right now and it's not in the bedroom.  She's going to go back to her childhood self and change for the better the hope.  I have a fun no idea when they're going to get back together.

TV Fanatic: So what's Tess' real motivation of trying to get Clark to "fulfill his destiny?"
Cassidy: I think she wants to see goodness in the world.  I think for once in her life she's  found a man that will really do that.  He's actually found the anthesis of [the previous men in her life].  I think it's genuine.

TV Fanatic: Do you know whether your coming back season?
Cassidy: I know whether or not she is but I can't tell you that.  You're just going to have to wait until next week.

TV Fanatic: Then what can you tell us about the season finale?
Cassidy: I can tell you that the finale is intense.  There are some shockers in there.  People are gonna be wowed by some of the stuff.  When I first read the script, I was like how are they going to do that?  People are gonna want a culmination at the push of a button, but I don't think people are gonna get it.  Since the show is coming back next season, I think they created a launchpad for that.  Could I be any more generic?

Cassidy also recommended we check out Danny Boyle's Sunshine to see the inspiration for the final orb scene from last night's "Injustice."

Smallville Quotes

Clark: Isn't it time we moved beyond these mental trials?
Jor-El: Your determination is strong, Son, but just as your passion will be your greatest strength, so, too, will it be your greatest obstacle.

Chloe: Dr. Hamilton.
Dr. Hamilton: If you would be so kind as to lower the 9mm Jericho 941. I prefer "Emil."
