Following a second season that many viewers consider to be one of the best seasons of any show in TV history, Sons of Anarchy has been officially renewed.

This comes as no shock, following an incredible finale and following a run that saw the show grow into the most-watched series on Tuesday night cable, while also beating broadcast networks in the 10 p.m. hour among male viewers.

"The success of Sons of Anarchy is very gratifying, and the show has become a bona-fide hit," said FX president and general manager John Landgraf. "The critics have recognized Sons as one the best series on television, and the show has earned its place alongside FX's great drama series."

What will season three entail? It's too early to really know at the moment.

But creator Kurt Sutter dropped a few hints about Jax and Tara earlier in the week.
