Casting News: Eugene Levy to CBS, Jill Scott to Law & Order: SVU

A couple quick casting notes to pass along, one concerning a new sitcom and the other a long-running drama:

1. Eugene Levy (pictured, best known as the father in the American Pie franchise) has joined the cast of Hitched, the upcoming CBS comedy pilot from Chuck creator Josh Schwartz. Levy will play a recently-married playboy's father.

2. Jill Scott, most recently seen on HBO's The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, will guest star on the March 24 episode of Law & Order: SVU.

She'll portray play the aunt of a former singer who suffers from multiple sclerosis and has been raped. The installment will also mark Jeri Ryan's return in the recurring role of defense attorney Patrice LaRue.
