No, Lilly Scott Was the Best in Hollywood
Eric Hochberger at .With all respect to M.L. House, our resident American Idol expert, I've been glued to season nine so far and must disagree with his assessment:
Andrew Garcia, while perfectly talented and full of potential, was NOT the best singer in Hollywood.
As Kara DioGuardi and my fellow TV Fanatic critic agreed, Garcia was simply replicating a past Idol contestant with his acoustic performance of "Straight Up." It was solid, but not as original as it seemed.
That's why I dub Lilly Scott as the most impressive so far. If American Idol is all about finding a fresh voice, then the discussion starts and ends with Scott. Watch her rendition of Ella Fitzgerald's "Lullaby of Birdland" and tell me you disagree:
