Idris Elba Joins Cast of The Big C

Showtime has just given us another reason to tune in for The Big C, its new summer series.
Former The Wire star Idris Elba - who recurred last season on The Office - has come aboard the cast as a love interest for the show's main character, played by Laura Linney.
She's a suburban housewife who takes a new view on life after receiving a cancer diagnosis.
Elba will appear on at least four episodes of the drama, which premieres after the return of Weeds on August 16.
Oliver Platt and Gabourey Sidibe also play key roles on the series.
