Royal Pains Review: "Mano a Mano"

at .

Last night's episode of Royal Pains had our favorite brotherly duo back in Cuba for unfinished business - Evan was abducted in the final scene last week, after all.

"Mano a Mano" wasted no time showing us who Evan abductors were - the beautiful bartender Carmen and her brother Oscar. The reason? Their uncle got his hand trapped in the car engine.

Before I go any further - I have to take a second to give a shout-out to my favorite Hispanic father - Ignacio! From one of my most dearly missed shows: Ugly Betty. It really was a surprising treat to see him!

Carmen and Hank

Okay, back to the review.

Did anyone else find the kiss between Hank and Carmen completely forced and a bit unusual? Just a couple episodes, it looked like the sparks were still flying between him and Jill. What gives? And if he was giving into temptation, why wait until the last minute before you leave the country? Do you think if he gets back together with Jill, he should say something about his tropical kiss?

Thankfully, Jill and Divya brought ample comedy throughout the episode. I really like the idea of these two bonding over something other than HankMed. Even if it is a creepy guy trying to hit on both of them. And what was that move that Divya did in order to bring him to his knees? If the whole PA doesn't work out for her, she could always teach a self defense class!

Boris

I am happy to see that Boris is in love with a good woman. Dr. Casseras really seems like a good woman who is also in love with him. Even Hank saw it and there is something to be said about the power of love. Hopefully Marissa will be able to find a cure for her man!

So there is a new on-call doctor in town - and one thing is for certain, I am definitely on Divya's side about her. I really don't find anything charming about Emily. Especially after the fact that she didn't even get up to help the little boy at the restaurant. It goes to show you the type of person she truly is.

From the previews, it looks like Eddie is finally going to be back in the swing of things! I've really missed him! I guess we just have to wait and see what he is up to next week!

Until then, we leave you with a few of our favorite Royal Pains quotes after the jump!

Evan: To Cuba - to Canadians - to private jets -
Hank: To dominoes. | permalink
Evan: Oscar - how do I say Dominicans are the new Cubans in Spanish? | permalink
Jill: You again? Really? | permalink
Evan: I can get over this kidnapping thing - I get it, but counterfeit cohibas? That is morally bankrupt man. | permalink
Hank: You need to call the ambulance now.
Carmen: We can't.
Hank: Why?
Carmen: Because he's already dead. | permalink

Royal Pains Season 2 Episode 5 Quotes

Where are we guys - hello?

Evan

Hank: Science makes predictions - not promises.
Boris: Is that your medical opinion or a personal one.
Hank: Maybe a little bit of both.
