David Alan Grier has secured a guest role on Bones, according to TV Guide.

The comedian will play Professor Bunsen Jude the Science Dude, a Bill Nye the Science Guy type and the quirky host of a children's TV program who comes to the Jeffersonian Institute hoping to get Brennan (Emily Deschanel) on his show as a guest scientist.

When Brennan scoffs at first at Jude's offer because she doesn't consider him a serious scientist, Jude volunteers to work with the "squinterns" to help solve a murder case.

Brennan agrees to appear on Jude's show if he is successful.

Grier is best known for his work on In Living Color. He recently competed on the eighth season of Dancing with the Stars. His Bones episode is scheduled for mid-October.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Bones cast Antonio Sabato Jr. in the role of a "guido" bouncer at a club on the New Jersey shore. The Situation himself was not available.
