Jayma Mays on Dream Glee Guest Star: Cher!

at .

John Stamos has been a hit. Gwyneth Paltrow is on the way. And Kristin Chenoweth will return at some point.

But when we asked Jayma Mays last week who she'd most love to see guest star on Glee, the actress behind Emma Pillsbury didn't hesitate: Cher, she said, adding: "That would be a dream come true. That would be the end all be all."

Jayma Mays on the Red Carpet

Here are more excerpts from the red carpet interview Mays gave us, prior to the Best in Drag AIDS benefit at the Orpheum Theater:

Is she anything like Emma?
There certainly has to be some qualities in me that is similar to her. I feel that most people play characters that are similar to themselves in some way or another, but I don't have OCD. I'm not a germophobe. I don't wear sweater cardigans everyday, I don't wear pencil skirts, so I don't know. There's so much on the page already that I feel like they've helped create a character. She's so detailed already just from the writing that it helps me get into the character even more.

Who should Emma pick?
I think I'd have to pick Will just because his name is easier to say. Dr. Carl Howell is impossible to say! If you try to say that three times really fast it's really impossible.

Does she appreciate the success of the show?
I've been out here for seven years, maybe eight now. It's nice to have a job that people like to watch that you like to be a part of. It's wonderful to go to work and feel that you're enjoying it and people are enjoying watching it. I have such a good network of friends around me. My husband and I eat out a lot more [laughs]. We love food!

I've got a full ride to a little school called the University of California in Los Angeles. Maybe you've heard of it. It's in Los Angeles.
