Off The Map Lines Up Strong List of Guest Stars

The premiere of Off The Map, which aired last night for a second time after Grey's Anatomy, featured Spinal Tap's Michael McKean enduring quite the zipline crisis.

He's but the first of many quality guest stars lined up this season, according to TV Line. Next week, in fact, Cheech Marin kicks off a multiple-episode run as Papa.

Cheech's character is a village medicine man who develops a fun love-hate relationship with Tommy (Zach Gilford), Off The Map creator Jenna Bans reveals.

Gibbs and Father

Ralph Waite (with Mark Harmon, pictured above), who plays Gibbs' father on NCIS, has been cast in an upcoming role that Bans would only describe as “shocking.”

Also on tap for the Map? Elizabeth Pena, for “a great arc toward the end of the season, as the mother of one of Lily’s (Caroline Dhavernas) ex-ex-ex-boyfriends.”

We can also look for Ed Begley Jr., who will soon turn up as “a traveling dentist” who has a “great episode with Mamie Gummer,” according to the shot-caller.

Finally, British actor Jonathan Cake will play “a guy who’s been in love with Zee (Valerie Cruz) for years and years,” setting up a triangle with Jason George‘s Otis.
