Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen has made a name for herself in music fronting The Pretty Reckless. Will she soon share her wisdom and evaluate other aspiring stars?

That's the rumor going around.

Momsen, who's been all but absent from GG this season, may be headed for Simon Cowell’s much-anticipated new show X Factor, according to sources connected with the project.

Producers reportedly want the 17-year-old to take a stab at co-hosting the show.

Cowell and company think the often-controversial Momsen may be perfect for the spot because she’s “young, hip and edgy” and has the energy the show seeks.

Simon left behind his successful American Idol franchise behind in 2010 to produce a US version of the TV singing competition, which begins auditions March 27.

The show, already a hit in the UK, has produced such stars as Leona Lewis. Do you think it will take off here? Would Taylor make a good co-host for the show?
