Blind auditions are a distant memory.

The battle rounds began last night on The Voice. Having just selected teams of eight, each coach must pick two teammates and challenge them to a duet.

At the end of the song, the winner is picked and the loser goes home.

This format, which featured one battle from each coach's team last night, will continue for several weeks until each team is left with only four members.

At THAT point, the remaining 16 singers will duke it out American Idol style, with the viewers' votes deciding who stays and who goes. Confused yet?
