Doctor Who fans flooded Hall H at Comic-Con today, whopping and hollering for stars Matt Smith and Karen Gillan.

Among the tidbits revealed at the panel? The two originally given a dummy ending to the mid-season finale, as only Alex Kingston (River Song) knew the truth about her character and what would happen.

As for what's ahead? The series returns to BBC America on August 27 and will air six new episodes. Get a look at them here:
