Entourage Exclusive: Jonathan Keltz on Satisfying Series Finale
Matt Richenthal at .Jonathan Keltz plays Jake Steinberg on Entourage. How did the actor react when he learned he'd landed the role of Ari's assistant?
"I did about 37 backflips," the actor told me over the phone.
Keltz said he was "possibly the biggest fan of the show," when he got the casting call. "Me and my buddies would always get together to watch... I was originally meant to be in just one scene and I didn't even tell anyone so they'd be surprised when I showed up on screen."
Two years later, Keltz has spent plenty of time sparring on screen with Jeremy Piven. He admits it was "intimidating" to star across a three-time Emmy winner at first, but:"Jeremy and I got along very well. I showed up to do my job, prepared and ready to throw down. I think that was always appreciated and our scenes have always been a blast."
So, with two episodes remaining, what can Keltz tell us about the series finale? Not much. But he does say viewers need not worry about turning off their TV sets in disappointment.
"The fans are really gonna be be happy," he said. "I know that because, as a fan, I was happy. It's remisicent of the first season. Really about the guys and their relationships. Everyone will be coming back together for a really nice ending."
