There's no beating around the bush. I'm just going to come out and say it:

I was a Chair 'shipper at one point. There's no hiding it when there's a thing known as the Internet Archives and a quick Gossip Guy search would reveal me as a fraud. But you know what? It wasn't just Chuck's downward spiral that turned me off to that couple.

It was the entertaining chemistry between two frenemies that really dominated season four for me. I don't think a Round Table went by that one of the two didn't steal my quote of the week with their witty banter.

But then something really happened between them. They realized they weren't just intellectual equals and rivals that could give each other a run for their money in a battle of wits.

The two are clearly the most cultured on Gossip Girl, and it was a delight to watch them go from frenemies to full on friends (much to Blair's chagrin) as they bonded over their love of classic movies, art and culture-ish things I'll never get.

But this poll isn't for favorite teen friends. It's favorite teen couple. And Dair fans will never forget "Empire of the Son." It was the episode that validated years of fan fiction and made these two friends eligible for this poll. It was the kiss that shocked the GG community and sent Chair and Derena fans alike into a frenzy.

No, they may not be the prettiest couple in the poll in the traditional sense. Heck, if all people wanted was that and no substance, Serenate would have been nominated and received 100% of the vote.  

We don't need the blonde hair, big boobs look of Serena. We don't need the pretty boy look of Nate. We need the raw sexiness of Blair and that hipster, hot nerdy guy next door look of Dan. We just need to get him a haircut and Blair to get over the fact he's from Brooklyn.

Oh, and the legions of you Dair fans out there to Dare to take to the Twittersphere, Facebook, Tumblr, Google Plus, or whatever the heck social networking tool you kids use these days and support the controversial couple that is Dair. Because... you know what? Chair may have end game, but we will have this poll. Let's prove that Blair's minions can take down any vampire, werewolf or Gleek.
