With just six days to go until the long-awaited winter premiere, executive producers Joshua Safran and Sara Goodman are here to bring us up to speed on Gossip Girl in their weekly preview video.

In Monday's episode, "The End of the Affair" ...

• It's New Year's Eve, and two months have passed since the infamous crash
• Flashbacks will show what the characters have been up to in that time
• One character who has been in every episode to date will not be
• The show is "shooting out of a cannon" with this installment and launching storylines that will culminate in the 100th episode / royal wedding spectacular in two weeks (January 30).
