Law & Order: SVU concluded Season 12 on a cliffhanger: Dann Florek's Captain Donald Cragen woke up alongside a dead prostitute and is wanted for murder.
Now, thanks to key new casting information, it looks unlikely that this storyline will be resolved any time soon.
TV Guide reports that former Chuck star Adam Baldwin will appear on at least three episodes of Season 13 as Steven Harris, the squad's intern Captain. He'll first show up on the season premiere and clash often with Benson.
Baldwin joins Paget Brewster as upcoming guest stars. The ex-Criminal Minds actress is set to portray the head of the Public Integrity Unit, which is handling Cragen's case for the District Attorney's office.
The actor most recently stopped by episodes of Castle and Leverage.
Law & Order: SVU, meanwhile, returns with a two-hour episode on September 26.
