Pry those eyelids open, Dexter fans: Showtime has released the first footage from Season 7... but there's a catch.

Within nine seconds, the following trailer depicts over FORTY scenes from upcoming episodes, all of which fly by in a literal blink of an eye. So sit back, hit Play - and then prepare to hit Play several more times to gather as much intel as you can.

Dexter Season 7 premieres on September 30, with Yvonne Strahovski on board in a major role and Ray Stevenson also set to recur alongside Jason Gedrick.

As for our main takeaway from the above clips? It's gotta be this screen grab, which appears to depict Dexter and Deb on the season premiere, perhaps burning evidence and proving the latter will at least give her brother's Dark Passenger a chance:
