The Big Bang Theory Midseason Report Card: B+

at .

The Big Bang Theory season 6 has been filled with a mix of hilarious episodes... and not-so-funny episodes. After five years, a slump isn't too surprising, but let's hope the remainder of the season will build upon the episodes that worked.

Check out The Big Bang Theory Report Card for the first half of Season 6 and share your grade below. Then, stop by and look at our other recent Report Cards: Castle, Person of Interest, Revolution and Supernatural.

A Messy Battle

Favorite Episode: I have to go with a tie between "The Re-Entry Minimization" and "The Parking Lot Escalation." The former was the first episode of the season that really worked and was hilarious  Poor Howard returned from space to a lackluster reception, while Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, and Amy had a crazy fun game night. And, in the later, Sheldon protested against Howard being assigned his parking spot. The war between Sheldon and Howard provided plenty of laughs, especially when their ladies took sides as well.

Least Favorite Episode: "The Decoupling Fluctuation" was such a flat episode that I hope to never see it again. Penny questioned her relationship with Leonard ... again. Sheldon had to keep a secret ... again. Plus, Howard's space bits were just not funny at all. It just didn't work. Though, Sheldon did show his heart when he told Penny he didn't want to see his friend hurt. Unfortunately, that moment wasn't nearly enough to save the episode.

Funniest Quotes: Even the worst episodes have at least some funny lines, so it's impossible for me to pick just one favorite quote. "The Parking Lot Escalation" quotes were by far my favorite. Check out The Big Bang Theory season 6 quotes and share your favorites!

Best Use of the Girls: Definitely the battle between Amy and Bernadette when they sided with their men over the parking space.

Bernadette: Gosh, Amy. I'm sensing a little hostility. Is it maybe because like Sheldon's work, your sex life is also theoretical?
Penny: Damn.
Amy: Well, at least, when we do make love, Sheldon won't be thinking about his mother. | permalink

Favorite Sheldon Moment: Sheldon had many hilarious moments this season, including getting drunk on Long Island Iced Tea and taking care of a sick Amy. The best moment though goes to Sheldon getting naked in Howard's car, "Revenge is a dish best served nude."

Best Character Improvement: Amy. Her first appearances were annoying with her unfunny awkwardness. As she has grown through her friendships with Penny and Bernadette and her relationship with Sheldon, she has greatly improved. The writers have found a way to even make her endearing at times.

Most Disappointing Character: Stuart. With Howard married now and his storylines revolving around Bernadette, Raj needed a new sidekick. Stuart has filled the role of a "partner" for Raj, but it hasn't worked all that well. He's had few funny lines and is more of an annoyance than anything.

Overall Grade: B+

Hopes for 2013:

  • Raj gets a real storyline. He's rich, smart, and a good looking guy. He deserves better than what he's gotten so far. No, Stuart wasn't the answer. The writers need to decide who they want Raj to be and stick to it. Straight, gay, bi-sexual, I don't care, but have him start dating for real. And, he needs to be cured of his fear of talking to women. That lost its humor seasons ago.
  • Penny and Leonard are just together. No more hemming and hawing. It's fine for them to have problems to overcome in their relationship, but they belong with each other. When either of them begin to have doubts, it feels forced.
  • Comic Con episode! I'd love to see what would happen if they attended a con. Craziness would certainly ensue. They would have to do it as a special episode, since their current staging wouldn't probably work, but it's something I'd love to see. I hope the rumors of the show doing one are true.

TBBT Quotes

Oh, Bernadette, please play my clarinet.

Raj's poem

Sheldon: I'll have a diet Coke.
Penny: Can you please order a cocktail? I need to practice mixing drinks.
Sheldon: Fine... I'll have a virgin Cuba Libre.
Penny: That's... rum and Coke without the rum.
Sheldon: Yes, and would you make it diet?
