NBC to Develop About a Boy Sitcom

NBC has given Jason Katims permission to make us cry every week once again.

The Friday Night Lights and Parenthood producer will helm that network's pilot for About a Boy, which is based on a novel and Hugh Grant movie by the same name.

The single-camera sitcom will tell the tale of an immature rich man and the child who moves in next door.

Elsewhere, NBC has also given a green light to Joe, Joe and Jane, a multi-camera comedy penned by Joe Port and Joe Weissman (The Office, Just Shoot Me) about a writer caught in a fed between a pair of needy, flawed people, his wife and his co-author/close friend.
