Rowan Blanchard Cast as Title Character in Girl Meets World

It's official: Cory and Topanga really do have a daughter.
With the Disney Channel having given the green light to the Boy Meets World spinoff, Entertainment Weekly now confirms that 11-year old Rowan Blanchard has been cast as the new lead.
The actress (Spy Kids: All the Time in World in 4D, The Back-up Plan) will portray Riley Matthews, the daughter of Ben Savage's Cory and Danielle Fishel's Topanga and the young women through whose eyes viewers will see the universe.
Producer Michael Jacobs tells EW that Blanchard is "real and accessible" and that she reminded him of Savage when she auditioned for the part.
Girl Meets World begins production next month and will almost definitely be included on the network's 2013-14 schedule.
