Justin Theroux to Star in HBO's The Leftovers

Justin Theroux has landed his first major television role.
The actors/director/writer will anchor HBO's The Leftovers, a highly anticipated drama based on Tom Perrotta's bestseller and adapted for television by the author and Damon Lindelof.
Theroux will portray a police chief and father of two named Kevin Garvey. Set in a post-Rapture world, the character will try to maintain a sense of normalcy in world that is very much falling apart.
Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) will direct the pilot.
