Mad Men Finale Sets Ratings Mark, Devious Maids Fails to Clean Up
Matt Richenthal at .A Mad Men Season 6 finale that changed almost everything set a new high ratings mark for the AMC drama, as 2.7 million viewers tuned in to see - SPOILER ALERT! - Don get fired and Ted break Peggy's heart.
It was the show's most-watched finale, beating out last year's closer by 100,000 viewers.
Elsewhere:
- Drop Dead Diva Season 5 debuted to 2.2 million viewers, a 21 percent drop from the Season 4 finale.
- Devious Maids came in at 2 million total, approximately the same as The Client List Season 2 finale in the same time slot for Lifetime.
- Nik Wallenda‘s tightrope walk across the Grand Canyon earned 13 million viewers for the 22 minutes it took him to make the dangerous trek. It finished as Discovery's third-highest rated special of all-time.
