Lea Michele has spoken out for the first time since Cory Monteith tragically died of a heroin overdose on July 13.

In a short statement posted on Twitter, the actress expresses her gratitude for fan support and also mentioned her late boyfriend/costar directly, writing:

"Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart."

The cast of Glee came together for a private memorial last Thursday, while Ryan Murphy has revealed how the show will handle Monteith's death.

Look for the character of Finn to be killed off and for the third episode of Glee Season 5 to address this passing. The series will then go on hiatus for a few weeks (for the Major League Baseball Playoffs) and return after viewers and crew members have had time to process everything.
