How will The Vampire Diaries wrap up November Sweeps?

With a party that doesn't go as planned and with what appears to be a brand new mysterious direction for the series.

The CW has released the official synopsis for "Dead Man on Campus," which will air on Thursday, November 21 and which teases a shift in The Vampire Diaries Season 5... away from Silas and toward a new enemy, perhaps.

At Whitmore College, Elena and Caroline ecide it’s time to throw a big party, but their plans are interrupted when Jesse suddenly needs Caroline’s help. Finally, Damon makes a terrifying discovery about a secret society. 

Does this secret society have something to do with Dr. Maxfield and his history with Elena's father? That's our best guess.
