The Originals has positively taken our Tuesday nights by storm and at least part of that success is due to Charles Michael Davis' character Marcel, the (former) vampire king of New Orleans.

What's the story behind this man with a million dollar smile? Davis promises we'll learn more of his character's history on The Originals Season 1 Episode 9 and told me during a recent set visit that tomorrow night's episode has been his favorite to shoot.

Why? It has something to do with Klaus and the elder vampire's affinity for the single man tear.

Elsewhere in the interview, Davis discusses Marcel's strategies when dealing with the power struggle for New Orleans and his luck with the ladies. Quips Davis, "Marcel's a charming guy."
