Days of Our Lives Recap: Ding, Dong, Nick is Dead!

at .

Nick Fallon was well and truly dead on this week's Days of Our Lives and everyone was delighted.

Well, almost everyone.

Mourning Nick

I will admit, seeing the flashbacks of Nick as Gabi stood over his body in the morgue and then listening to his heartfelt plea to Marlena for help almost made me feel sorry for the guy. Almost. It didn't take long to remember what a bastard Nick had become.

Let's face it, other than Maggie and Aunt Julie, Kate was correct in this Days of Our Lives quote when she told Hope…

If you wanted to gather up everyone in this town who hated your cousin and had access to a weapon you would have to rent an arena.

Kate

Unfortunately Kate hadn't yet figured out that her own gun was missing. I'm guessing that Lucas took it which would make him a prime suspect.

Of course there are plenty of those to go around. Both Sonny and Will wanted Nick dead and had access to a weapon. EJ and Sami hired a hit man and I'm completely perplexed as to why the guy is still lurking around the park. I can only guess that he's approaching Sami to say he didn't kill Nick because someone else got to him first. Either that or he's still waiting for his payment for a job well done, but that would be far too easy.

I still like Gabi as a suspect but I just don't know if she has it in her. It's one thing to slam the guy in the head with a rock when he's trying to rape you, it's another to shoot him in cold blood. Still, his manipulations may have finally pushed her over the edge.

Although Rafe might kill to protect his sister, I think he'd try to have Nick thrown back in prison before actually shooting him.

Hope being in charge of the case is almost comical. The guy was her cousin and half the suspects are family. If that's not a conflict of interest I don't know what is but I suppose with the Salem PD down to her, Rafe, and Roman, there's no one left to hand it off to.

The only one I truly feel sorry for in all of this is little Alli, although I kind of love the twist of history repeating itself. Sami became screwed up after walking in on her mother having an affair with John. Now Alli must deal with the trauma of watching her beloved cousin Nick bleed out in front of her, an event that may have been caused by her own mother.

The only other big story of the week was Daniel finding those papers and it took all week for him to confront Nicole with them. I really do feel for Nicole. Happiness is like a carrot that keeps getting yanked away, unfortunately this time it's her own fault. I can only imagine how Eric will react when he learns the truth. I'm fairly certain it will leave Nicole in tears once again.

Your turn TV Fanatics, with the investigation on the way, who do you think killed Nick Fallon?
