It's official: Game of Thrones has whacked The Sopranos.

The network announced today that the epic drama, currently enjoying what many consider to be its best season yet, has surpassed The Sopranos as the most-watched series in HBO history.

With two installment remaining in Game of Thrones Season 4, the drama averages a gross audience of 18.4 million viewers across all platforms.

This mark exceeds the peek for Tony and Company in 2002, when that beloved program averaged a total audience of 18.2 million viewers per episode.

Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 9 airs this Sunday at 9 p.m. and here's a look at what you can expect from the battle at Castle Black:
