Jennifer Love Hewitt is headed back to CBS.

The former Ghost Whisperer star has been cast as a series regular on Criminal Minds Season 10, the network confirmed today via press release.

She will come on board as Kate Callahan, a veteran undercover agent whose outstanding work at the FBI has enabled her to nab a position with the Behavioral Analysis Unit.

We'll first meet Callahan on the October 1 season premiere.

"We’re thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Jennifer Love Hewitt to our amazing cast,” says showrunner Erica Messer. “Many of us on the show have enjoyed working with her over the years and look forward to again. We have exciting storylines planned for her character and the entire BAU team as we head into our 10th season."

Hewitt essentially takes over for Jeanne Tripplehorn, whose Alex Blake exited the series on the Criminal Minds Season 9 finale.

They mess you up, your mom and dad. They may not mean to, but they do. They fill you with the faults they had, and add some extra, just for you - Philip Larkin.

Hotch: A sniper can wait up to 72 hours without sleeping.
Mays: Seriously?
Rossi: That's part of their training. They can stay awake for 72 hours and remain completely focused on their target.
Mays: How?
Hotch: By using a mental exercise called "fantasy integration". A sniper creates a scenarios involving a target that keeps that person at the forefront of their mind.
Morgan: Often they'll imagine a place where they're with the target, doing something together that takes time. For example, building a car.
JJ: For some, the fantasy begins the minute they're assigned a target. Then nothing will distract them.
