Outlander Premiere Sets Starz Ratings Record

A whole lot of people traveled back in time on Starz over the weekend.

According to preliminary data, 720,000 people tuned in Saturday night for Outlander Season 1 Episode 1, with a total of 2.3 million watching across the entire weekend.

Moreover, when factoring in online viewing and On Demand, another 1.4 million people watched the drama, which is based on a series of best-selling novels.

At 3.7 million for all platforms, this marks a record high number of viewers for a Starz premiere.

As a matter of comparison: Black Sails brought in 850,000 for its initial broadcast, amassed 2.6 million over its opening weekend and totaled 3.5 million with On Demand/online plays factored in.
