As we prepare for the start of The Vampire Diaries Season 6 (Squeee!), we wanted to take a look at some of the deaths, both permanent and temporary, that have rocked the series so far.
The Vampire Diaries has taken us on a roller coaster of farewell these past five seasons, as loyal fans have been through a while lot. So it's time to pay homage to those that have died, whether they came back to life or whether they remained off on The Other Side.
Some of these deaths were real movers and shakers for the plot, while others happened just as we were starting to like the fresh faces. Either way, all of the demises listed below were shocking and had huge impacts on the main characters.
