It's not a surprise that Ichabod and Abbie are going to be freed from their respective fates to continue their fight, is it?
From the Sleepy Hollow Season 2 Episode 1 photos, it looks like Abbie is let go from Purgatory and Ichabod from his coffin in plenty of time to fight off Ichabod's son, Henry, as he attempts to make life on earth hell.
The official Fox synopsis says, "With Henry’s emergence as the Horseman of War, alongside the Headless Horseman, Sleepy Hollow has never been so close to destruction."
Jenny is in imminent danger in the premiere, but with Abbie and Ichabod on the case, it seems she'll be well cared for. While they search for Jenny, Ichabod and Abbie also try to come up with a new plan to act on behalf of their destinies as Witnesses.
There will never be a dull moment. It's Sleepy Hollow!
