Days of Our Lives Recap: Is EJ Dimera Dead?

at .

It was a week that ended in bloodshed and tears as Sami begged EJ to breathe. Unfortunately, according to the paramedics, he didn't listen.

So is EJ DiMera really dead? Hard to say. The paramedics were awfully quick to pronounce him so. Did they even have time to take a pulse? In real life there would have been several steps they'd take to reach that conclusion and they'd still probably perform CPR until they got him to the hospital anyway. But his isn't real life, it's a soap opera.

Which makes it all the more difficult to tell. At first I thought that perhaps this was Stefano's plan to for payback as he whisked EJ off somewhere and let Sami believe he was dead…but Stefano appeared to be just as devastated as Sami. Speaking of which, Sami telling EJ she loved him over and over and over again almost brought me to tears.

Could this be some plan of EJ's to quietly slink off with his wife and kids to parts unknown and start a new life while everyone else thinks he's in his grave? Or could EJ DiMera really be dead?

I hope not. It's been fun watching EJ and Sami be happy for once and those kids deserve a happy ending more than anyone in town. But it appears we'll have to wait until Monday to find out. As of this moment, EJ's future doesn't look good.

In the meantime the kids were celebrating their return with Will and Sonny and one of the funniest moments of the week was when Allie said, "You know who really cheats?"  and all of the kids responded, "Ciara!" They really are setting Ciara up to be Salem's most formidable bad girl yet and she hasn't even reached her pre-teens.

The current batch of Salem bad girls were out in force as Kristen tried once again to get Daniel to help her take down Theresa. That was until John let Theresa off the hook. So what is John's master plan? Was Kristen right, is he choosing the lesser of two evils or does he have something else in mind because I can't imagine he'd let Brady continue to think he hit his own father when John himself knows it isn't true.

JJ had his own truth to tell but he never quite got there. He's got to realize that at some point Eve will spill the beans about Jack's horrible history. It would be so much better if JJ could get out in front of it but I couldn't really blame him for holding back. It's a hard thing to think about, never mind tell your girlfriend that your Dad raped your aunt long before you were even born. All of these scenes make me wish Jack were still alive to deal with the consequences his actions are having on his kids.

One of the more annoying scenes was watching Will attack Sami for getting back together with EJ. He was so angry you'd think he'd been the one who was cheated on. I was surprised how calm Sami remained during the entire confrontation and how she attempted to reason with her son in this Days of Our Lives quote

Sami: Everybody makes mistakes, Will. Everybody.
Will: I have a daughter that reminds me every day.

Am I the only one who hates when Will refers to his daughter as a mistake? I know the circumstance in which she was created were not ideal but poor little Ari is going to end up with quite a complex if her Daddy keeps telling people she's his mistake.

Even Caroline stormed over to get in a few licks in about Sami and EJ's reconciliation which surprised me. It seemed that Caroline was the one person who encouraged Sami to consider the possibilities. I know she's never liked EJ but her anger struck me as odd.

So what  do you think, TV Fanatics. Is EJ dead or alive?

I don't know how Rafe mansplained this to you, but I was upset over losing Will and he was upset over losing you and we were just two exes trying to comfort each other.

Sami

He's taken enough from our family. I will not allow him to ruin our lives any more than he already has.
