As previously reported, Nina Dobrev is on her way to The Originals, though the TVD star is not on her way to New Orleans.

Instead, Dobrev will appear via flashback on The Originals Season 2 Episode 5, an installment that will find the actress coming on board as Tatia in a flashback-heavy hour that centers on Elijah remembering the young woman he loved and lost.

According to the official CW synopsis, Esther will force her son to relive this difficult time in his life in order to prove to him that her plan is best.

We already know that Tatia was the lover of both Klaus and Elijah (sound familiar, Vampire Diaries fans?) and that Dobrev will guest star on November 3.

But Joseph Morgan recently told TV Line of the special appearance that the episode will be “pretty grim,” as The Originals reveals a lot about the brothers and “what happened back then.”

Is it just us? Or does that sound especially ominous?
