Claire Holt in Contention for Supergirl: Would She Make a Super Selection?

Claire Holt recently made her return to The CW, appearing again as Rebekah Mikaelson on The Originals Season 2 Episode 8.
But the former Vampire Diaries star may take a bite out of a very different role, according to The Wrap, which reports Holt is in contention to portray Supergirl on an upcoming drama based on that iconic hero.
Holt is among those testing for the lead role in this comic-book adaptation, which recently received a series commitment from CBS.
The one-hour series will chronicle the life of Kara Zor-El, who was born on the planet Krypton and escaped before it exploded.
She’s since been on Earth, hiding the powers she shares with her well-known cousin. However, at age 24, she chooses to embrace her unusual abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.
Supergirl will be produced bu Gerg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash) and Ali Adler (Chuck, No Ordinary Family).
