The Mysteries of Laura Midseason Report Card: Grade It!

at .

When The Mysteries of Laura was first announced critics panned it and said that it would never last. When The Mysteries of Laura Season 1 Episode 1 aired many were surprised by how easy it was to like Detective Diamond and the rest of her team.

The show has a great mixture of comedy and drama with a wonderfully talented cast. Read on, Diamonds, and let us know what your thoughts are on the freshman season of The Mysteries of Laura.

The Mysteries of Laura Stars

Best Episode: The Mysteries of Laura Season 1 Episode 3. "The Mystery of the Biker Bar" pretty much had everything a fan would want. There was wonderful chemistry between Jake and Laura; that slow dance still makes me swoon. Max and Meredith working together – with Max getting a special assignment to spy on the new nanny. It also featured a great moment at the end of the episode with the entire cast and showcased why these actors work so well together.

Worst Episode: The Mysteries of Laura Season 1 Episode 4. "The Mystery of the Sex Scandal" was just boring. It was a storyline that has been done before and so it was easy to tune out the entire episode and forget what exactly happened. Granted they did still provide the twists that they are becoming known for, but unfortunately the twist came too late and the episode was an epic fail.

Best Character: Like there is any question as to who the best character is; Max! How can you not love a character such as Max? First of all he is entirely lovable and has such a quirky personality. Secondly, you have to appreciate the comedy that he provides week after week. I have loved Max from the first episode and will continue to watch this show purely to see what he gets himself into.

Worst Character: Nicholas and Harrison Broderick aka The Twins. Yeah I know that it is terrible to say that the children are the worst characters, but honestly they are. They have thankfully toned down the rambunctious nature of the boys, but unfortunately the stage was already set for dislike them when they decides to paint their classroom.

Characters That Need To Get Together: Billy and Meredith. At first I was not on board with a relationship between these two, but I find that they are growing on me. Billy is a great guy with a good head on his shoulders and Meredith is such a badass woman that is independent but still wants to have love in her life. We also can't forget to mention the electric chemistry between these two. Just put them together already!

MVP: Alicia aka The Nanny. This woman has been an excellent addition to the show and has probably made all of us like the boys a little bit more. Who knew that when she was introduced during the first episode that she would come back and be the nanny that these boys need. Alicia adds excellent comic relief and we have to love how she is straight forward with Laura and Jake.

Hopes for 2015: Hopefully the writers work on making more interesting stories in the coming episodes – unfortunately with so many crime shows it is hard to stay fresh. More Alicia doing her nanny duties, but also want to learn more about her. More character development; the show has done a pretty great job is developing the characters, but I would love to learn more about everyone especially Billy. Lastly, I want to see Max get his own storyline and I wan to meet his family.

Now it's your turn to tell me what you think! If you need to catch up go watch The Mysteries of Laura online and than come back and let me know what you think of the season so far.
