Jeffrey Tambor on Transparent

The critically-beloved Amazon Original Series took home the trophy for Best TV Series, Musical or Comedy; while star Jeffrey Tambor earned Best Actor in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy.

These distinctions marked the first time an Amazon Original program had won a Golden Globe.

"I want to thank the trans community," creator Jill Soloway said upon accepting the award on behalf of the show's cast. "They are our family, they make it possible."

Tambor also made special mention of the transgender community, saying "this is bigger than me" in accepting his award for playing Maura Pfefferman, the father of a dysfunctional family who takes on a new sexual identity late in life.
