Portlandia: Renewed for Two More Seasons!

Why take a chance on losing something when it's going oh so well?

That's IFC's sound reasoning as it renews Portlandia for an additional two seasons. The last time the quirky sketch comedy series was renewed in 2013 it was done in the same way.

The series, a hipster-baiting, satirical look at urban Portland and the people who live there, was created by its stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein and both will remain in place  Portlandia Season 6 and Portlandia Season 7.

Locking in Armisen with his new gig alongside Jimmy Fallon late nights certainly isn't a bad idea, and there is certainly a lot more material to mine in the lovely city of Portland.

“Portland may be a place where young people go to retire, but IFC is not retiring Portlandia,” IFC president Jennifer Caserta said in a statement. “And if you order a book from Toni and Candace at the Feminist Bookstore right now, it might even arrive by the time season seven rolls around.”
