Castle has not yet been renewed. But when it is, you can rest assured that Nathan Fillion will be standing firmly in Rick Castle's shoes.

Fillion signed on for another year of the ABC drama, but there are other maneuverings taking place behind the scenes as David Amann steps down as the series showrunner.

Amann stepping down marks the second such shakeup in a year, as he replaced Andrew Marlowe in the position last year. Marlowe is not expected to return.

There is no word yet on who will replace Amann and a search is underway. Ratings fell 15% during the past year, so it's not necessarily a surprise that something of this magnitude would occur again.

Now we just need to sit back and wait for news of Stana Katic's situation with Castle Season 8 and for word of renewal when the fall schedule is released sometime in May, if not earlier. Keep your fingers crossed!
